Seasonal Nature Poem Printables are HERE!

This has been a year-long labor of love, and the Seasonal Nature Poem Printables are finally ready! Beautiful artwork for your home or homeschool for every season. Change it out weekly to go with your nature study theme or display multiple pieces to suite your home decor. I designed these printable pieces so that they can stand alone for seasonal decoration as well. Nature and poetry combined for two of my favorite ways to decorate! You can purchase each season separately or bundled for better value. I wanted to make these as affordable as possible, while still making it worth the considerable time and expense I’ve put into them.  …

Gluten and Dairy Free Soft Pumpkin Cookies

With it being Fall, pumpkin season is in full swing here! I’ve made a few different pumpkin cookies recipes, and these are definitely my favorite! They are really soft with just the right amount of spice. Many people make their own gluten free all purpose flour mix, and I have in the past as well. But lately my go-to gluten free flour is Pamela’s brand. I think it tastes great and bakes well. My husband (who is not gluten free) often says “Wow! These are gluten free?” when I present him with baked treats. You do need to carefully measure your gluten free flour using the scoop and level method.…

    Poetry for Kids

This year as I homeschool my daughters for 1st grade I’m being more intentional about including poetry. We’ve always had poetry books and such, but this year I am also displaying a new nature related poem every week and we read it during our morning basket time. The girls really look forward to hearing it each day! We’ve also been really enjoying our weekly Poetry Teatime! I make gluten and dairy free treats, we sip tea, and we read poetry! People often ask which books are currently in our poetry basket, so here you go! Where the Sidewalk Ends A Light in the Attic Sing a Song of Seasons: A…

Gluten and Dairy Free Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

I have always loved to bake. However, when we learned that our daughters needed to be strictly gluten and dairy free it was a challenging transition. These days it’s almost second nature to me, and it’s hard to remember how overwhelming it was at first. For our Poetry Teatime this week I made gluten and dairy free pumpkin cupcakes with faux cream cheese frosting. I know that not everyone is ready to embrace The Best Season of the Year (aka Fall), but I’ve been ready for weeks. At least I waited until September to break out the Autumn flavors, right?! I baked a test batch first and before adding icing I had everyone try one.…

    Poetry Teatime!

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve updated the blog. My younger two will begin 1st grade next week after Labor Day, and we are still homeschooling! One thing that we will be incorporating into our regular weekly schedule is a Poetry Teatime. So, we thought it would be fun to invite my mom over to join us for our first tea party of the school year (a week early.) I made a super yummy and entirely gluten free (and mostly dairy free) spread of fancy tea party foods. We picked some flowers from the backyard and lit a candle. It was all so lovely and we can’t wait for our next…
